Broward Center for Women and Children
Since 1922 the Miami Rescue Mission | Broward Outreach Centers, The Caring Place, has served the homeless and needy of South Florida. Our Broward Outreach Centers were first established in 1992. Our Miami-Dade and Broward Centers serve over 1,300 men, women, and children each day. There are approximately 800 people enrolled in our residential life-changing programs. At the heart of these decades of serving those in the greatest need are our core values:
Compassion is love in action, saying yes when others say no, embracing the inherent value of every human being. It is the nonjudgmental acceptance of those in distress and a deep desire to see them restored to health and happiness.
Hope is to expect the best outcome with confidence. It is a vision for a better tomorrow; the ability to imagine the possibilities for a better life. The Caring Place provides hope to those who have lost hope through a road map for restoration.
Restoration is to regain that which was lost; to become healthy and whole again, physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and socially. The Caring Place (Miami Rescue Mission | Broward Outreach Centers) provides resources and a restorative environment that supports those on the path to health and stability.
Transformation is to alter character and outlook; to experience an awakening and a willingness to change. Our centers provide a safe, supportive environment and effective tools that support individuals in achieving permanent, positive change.
HOPE South Florida
For those desperately searching for a bridge from a crisis of homelessness to a life renewed, HOPE South Florida has been a beacon of light since 1995. Started as The Shepherd’s Way ministry, we are a faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has provided emergency shelter, housing assistance, and support services to thousands of homeless families, veterans and individuals.
First United Methodist Preschool / Aftercare
Our mission is to establish a cooperative partnership between school, home and community for the optimum benefit of our children. We promote language development and the education of the total child through experiences that meet social, emotional, and cognitive needs. We believe in an Open-Door Policy where parents are invited to call, visit, or participate in our program at any time.
First Presbyterian Learning Church Center
Founded in Hollywood, FL in 1985, The Learning Center has been committed to serving children and families with a spirit of love and care. The Learning Center began by providing a Preschool Program for ages 3 to 5. We then expanded to include an After-School Program for students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade and in 2008, we added the Early Learning Center for children of ages 1 and 2.
